Boyer Valley Community School District Celebrates Tucker Murphy’s Selection as a National Math Star!

Posted on September 5th, 2025

We’re thrilled to share some exciting news! Tucker Murphy, a 4th-grade student at Boyer Valley Elementary School, has been selected for the 2025 National Math Stars cohort.

National Math Stars is a multi-state program that identifies students with exceptional math talent and provides them with ten years’ worth of support to accelerate their education. Each year, thousands of 2nd and 3rd-grade students are nominated, but only a small fraction are chosen for this special opportunity.

We’re incredibly proud that one of our own has earned one of these highly coveted spots! Many thanks to all of the teachers, school administrators, parents, and community members who have helped Tucker Murphy shine so brightly.

As a National Math Star, Tucker Murphy will receive:

  • Long-term support from 3rd grade through high school at no cost to the family

  • Weekly one-on-one math mentoring

  • Advanced math learning opportunities

  • STEM enrichment materials and opportunities

  • Invitations to math competitions and summer camps

Please join us in celebrating Tucker Murphy for his hard work, curiosity, and love for math. We know this is just the beginning of an incredible journey!
