September 18th Esports match 🎮🎮

The Boyer Valley Varsity Rainbow 6 Siege team started their season off strong on Thursday, September 18, winning against Mount Ayr. Silas Hartwig had an impressive first showing along with Ashton Groves combining for 35 kills💀. Mount Ayr had to play the first match with only 4 players as their 5th was not available. The team beat them 7-3 for that match, but the next match Mount Ayr came with their full roster, but it didn’t matter as the esports team still beat them handily 7-3 again. Ending the series 2-0 they will look forward to next week's game against Roland-Story.

On September 16th, we had a home volleyball game against Glidden-Ralston. The Boyer Valley Lady Dogs came out victorious in 3 out of 5 games. Sylvia Sullivan (SR) had an outstanding 20 kills these games! Gwen Neilson (SR) had a total of 24 digs and Ava Klinker (SR) had a total of 40 assists during the games! One of the huge reasons for this win was because of our decked out student section! The theme was blackout, and students really showed out and made plenty of points. This was a really suspenseful, hard fought game! Good job to the Glidden-Ralston and Boyer Valley girls!!

On September 16th, the Boyer Valley Junior High Volleyball girls played against Glidden - Ralston who played us at our home. Glidden started off strong with a win of 17/21. In the second round Boyer Valley put up a good fight against the opposing team, a stand out being Addison Cromwell having a streak of 4 serves that allowed us to score points. Ultimately, however, Boyer Valley ended up losing the second round, followed by the third. Despite this, our team was still exceptional, and we look forward to the rest of the season. Go dogs!! --Student Reporter

The personal finance class, taught by Mrs. Behrendt, played a bean game. Each layout got a certain amount of beans for each scenario. In one scenario, they only got a small amount of beans and had to budget on everything they needed and wanted. In another scenario, they got a lot of beans and got to spend all of them on the best things they could get. The moral is having a lot of money and getting to budget on whatever you want but also not having a lot of money and having to spend money more on what you need to survive and not as much as what you want.
