Today Ms. Skinner's Creative Writing class went on a field trip to surrounding small town coffee shops in order to meet up with their owners and discuss various marketing strategies. Effective writing does not just take place in long essays about Frankenstein or through exciting short stories, but also through effective social media posts, posters, and so much more. We had the privilege of meeting with four owners who took the time to share what has and what hasn't worked for their specific business. Also, the coffee was delicious everywhere, just saying! Thank you Common Grounds (Dunlap), Daily Dose (Dow City), The Grounds (Harlan), and Aroma Bakery and Cafe (Woodbine) for sharing your knowledge with us today. (Also, as an added plus, we had an impromptu meeting with three absolutely lovely retired teachers while we were at The Grounds. They were such a blast, we had to take a photo with them as well! They had us laughing the entire time.)
